Honeymoon in Paradise

Hi Harriet!
I'm slowly getting used to being back from paradise!
We had a perfect honeymoon, let me say.
For the rainy season, it only rained at night, so we never had a problem with that. The weather was fantastic. We primarily lounged at La Ropa beach and the pool (some of each everyday), and we went into Zihuatanejo town a lot, almost everyday.
We took the minibus and really tried to
integrate ourselves as much as possible into the local scene. We ate some meals at the beach and we went to a place at Las Gatas and picked out our own red snapper from a tray of freshly caught fish, they prepared it any way we wanted, then brought it out with rice, lettuce, tortillas, salsas, lime, etc. And they had amazing pina coladas served in a glass milk bottle. We had mariachis there as well, so that dining experience was a highlight.
We cooked about one meal per day. Your kitchen is so well stocked, and we really loved that. We like to cook, so it made us feel right at home. We began and ended every day on the terrace off the bedroom...it was so peaceful.
The pools are fabulous, needless to say. We saw the
same few couples everyday around happy hour and we'd share our stories of the day, so that was fun. But it was never crowded.
We didn't go on any side trips, we focused on becoming the best beach-loungers and town-goers we could be. We loved the fact that it was not touristy at all. We only saw maybe 2 or 3 other sets of gringos everyday. And, being Mexico, we were forced to use our Spanish a lot, which was great. All the people in Zihuatanejo were so kind and friendly, and very helpful.
We signed the guestbook, but I just have to tell you a huge THANK YOU for opening up your place to us. As an interior architect, I truly appreciated all the special details throughout the condo.
